Moltibox – Fibrenet

Need

The sudden growth of the company has resulted in the need to regulate and monitor the Internet access of employees to prevent inappropriate use of the resource and potential threats to data security. Moreover, the lack of a PABX without IVR support and direct call, generated an inconsistent flow of communications to the structure and did not allow the customer to always find the right, eventually creating a slowdown in the employees productivity.

Solution

The appliance Moltibox was added to the infrastructure in HA (High Availability) and implemented as a proxy and intelligent content filtering. Connected to the existing domain, using the same authentication system of the Active Directory (so unique access to PC and internet), the Moltibox is used to filter web pages that are not permitted by the company while consenting the free navigation of those authorized, selects the groups that can have access to certain content from those that cannot. In addition, the multi lingual content-filtering is self-updating, and intelligently select allowed contents from those useless or dangerous, while still allowing the company, through user-friendly controls, the unlock of those authorized. The company wanted to ensure access to internet freely during off time, so the Moltibox proxy, during the lunch break and after the business hours, removes the restrictions placed by the management (except the content filtering so to constantly protect navigation). In a second step, given the growth of company, their virtual VoIP PBX provided by Fastweb was found inadequate, and the natural replacement was obviously Moltibox: multilingual IVR responder, multi-level to relieve telephone operators from the most of voice traffic, direct selection of the desired department and management of the voice mail of the various offices, sending an email to the correct group people. A Fax-Server with an email gateway was also installed. The Moltibox has also allowed the reuse of pre-existing SIP phones, adding only those required for the expansion (as Moltibox can manage every brand of SIP phones). To guarantee the availability of the service, a virtualized version of the PABX has been added on high availability and, in the case of physical failure of the appliance, the communication is not compromised as it moved automatically to the virtual solution.
